There are 26,725 voters in the constituency of which 18,576 voters voted in the last election making the voting to around 69.51%. The Demographic Bifurcation of the constituency is 46.49% Christians, 41.95% Hindus and 4.89% Muslims (Shillong Town). Adlbert Nongrum candidate belonging to Khun Hynniewtrep National Awakening Movement won the seat in last election defeating J Antonius Lyngdoh of Bharatiya Janata Party by 406 Votes.
