About Taliparamba Assembly Constituency

Taliparamba is constituency No. 8 of Kerala legislative assembly. It is situated in Kannur district and comes under the Kannur Lok Sabha constituency. It is an open constituency.

According to the Election Commission of India, this assembly seat comprises 1,74,788 registered voters. It includes 79,316 male and 95,472 female registered voters.

In the 2011 assembly elections, this seat was won by CPI(M) candidate James Matthew. With 81,031 votes, Matthew defeated his nearest contender by a margin of 27,861 votes. Job Michel of KEC(M) party was the runner-up. The voter turnout was 82.63 %.
