About Sisai Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency

One of the administrative blocks of the Gumla district, the assembly constituency of Sisai belongs to Lohardaga parliamentary constituency. The seat which was occupied by BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) was taken over by INC (Indian National Congress) in 2009 assembly elections. Geeta Shree Oraon of INC won the 2009 elections and is the present MLA. She defeated Samir Oraon of BJP, the last time winner with a huge margin. Geeta Shree Oraon bagged 39260 votes as against Samir Oraon's 24319 votes. The constituency is reserved for the Scheduled Tribes. It had a population of 116,844 as per 2011 India census.
