Barhait Assembly Constituency/Vidhan Sabha Constiuency which is situated in Sahebganj district, comes under Rajmahal Lok sabha Constituency and is reserved for Scheduled Tribes. Jharkhand Assembly Elections 2019 will be held between 30 November to 20 December and Jharkhand Assembly Results will be declared on 23 December. Barhait Assembly Constituency goes for poll in last phase that is 5th Phase (December 20). According to 2011 census data, total population of Barhait Assembly Constituency is 130227, in which 66401 are male and 63826 are female. In Jharkhand Assembly Elections 2014 they were 185700 total voters in which 93990 were male and 91710 were female. This is a JMM bastion. In 2009, Hemlal Murmu of JMM won this seat. In Jharkhand Assembly Elections 2014, JMM�s Hemant soren won this elections defeating his nearest rival Hemlal Murmu of BJP by 24087 votes.
