About Mormugao Assembly Constituency

Mormugao is constituency No. 24 of Goa legislative assembly.
It is situated in South Goa district and comes under the South Goa Lok Sabha constituency. It is an open constituency. The state of Goa has 40 assembly constituencies.

According to data with the Election Commission of India, Mormugao assembly constituency has 20,348 registered voters. It comprises 10,634 male and 9,714 female registered voters.

The BJP defeated the Congress by 913 votes to win this constituency in the 2012 Goa assembly elections. Milind Sagun Naik, the winning BJP candidate, got 7,419 votes. Congress candidate Sankalp Padmanabh Amonkar was the nearest contender with 6,506 votes. The voter turnout was 79.91 %.
