As per the Constitution of India the State Election Commission of every state is responsible for the 'superintendence, direction and control of the entire process for conduct of elections to the Panchayats and municipal bodies'. The elections to the local bodies are held regularly in every state. The role of the Election Commission is to administer and ensure fair elections to all the local bodies of the state. It needs to make sure that elections take place on the scheduled time.
The Election Commission of Telangana has not been formed as yet. It is the Election Commission of Andhra Pradesh that looks after all the proceedings.
