Mangaldoi parliamentary constituency is one of the 14 Lok Sabha constituencies of Assam. According to Election Commission of India 2009 data the total electorates in the Mangaldoi Parliamentary constituency (constituency number 8) were 1,416,682 of which 681,991 are females and 734,691 are males.
It can be said that the geographic region of Mangaldoi in this north-eastern state of Assam belongs to a Member of Parliament, who represents the concerns of that particular parliamentary constituency of Assam in the Lok Sabha. Presently, Ramen Deka of the BJP represents the Mangaldoi seat in the Lower House of Parliament.

The Mangaldoi parliamentary constituency belongs to the Darrang district in Assam, and is a relatively less populated parliamentary constituency. Although the Mangaldoi parliamentary constituency is also a famous municipal board in the Darrang district, it has a population of only 25,989 people, according to the 2011 Census of India.

Out of a total of 10 assembly constituencies that comprise the Mangaldoi parliamentary constituency, the two assembly segments of Mangaldoi and Udalguri are reserved for candidates belonging to the scheduled castes and scheduled tribes, respectively. The economy in this constituency sustains on a strong agriculture, as Mangaldoi is known across Assam for being a trading hub of all agricultural products, especially staple crops such as wheat and rice.
