In 2009 Election Results the UPA won around 261 out of 543 seats, and in the second position was NDA with 158 seats, while 23 seats were won by Left parties.

In 2014 Election Results the BJP won 282 seats out of 543 seats. This took the NDA tally to 336 seats out of 543 seats in the Lok Sabha. INC could only manage to win 44 seats and stayed in the second position while AIADMK party from Tamil Nadu came third with 37 seats in the 2014 Lok Sabha Elections.

In 2019, the BJP is set to return to power at the Centre after a sweeping win in the 2019 Lok Sabha election , armed with a bigger mandate than in the 2014 General Election. The party - led by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi and BJP President Amit Shah duo has secured 303 seats in the 17th Lok Sabha. Meanwhile, the Congress, the main Opposition party, managed to increase its vote share from 2014 only by a handful of votes, with a final tally of 52 seats. There will be no Leader of Opposition in the upcoming Lower House for a second consecutive term.

Domariyaganj Lok Sabha Elections and Results 2014


Domariyaganj Lok Sabha Constituency is one of the 80 constituencies of Uttar Pradesh and was formed prior to the 1952 elections. 1,499,679 is the total electorate count in the Domariyaganj Lok Sabha Constituency (constituency number 60). Out of these 813,533 number of electorates are males and the remaining 686,146 are belong to the female category as the Election commission of India 2009 reports suggest. It has five Vidhan Sabha segments and one is reserved for the SC category. It covers the whole district of Siddharth Nagar which covers a total area of 2,752 sq km. It falls under the Basti division and its headquarters lie in Naugarh. It has five tehsils; Naugarh, Shohratgarh, Bansi, Itwa and Domariyaganj. Hindi and Urdu are the commonly used languages here.

According to the census data of 2111, it has a population of 2,559,297 and 52% of the population is male whereas 48% is female. 18.96% of the population is below the age of six and the sex ratio is 976 females per 1000 males. The average literacy rate is just 59.25% with male and female literacy being 70.92% and 47.41% respectively. 40% of the total population belongs to the minority. It has basic educational facilities with a handful of schools and colleges. Siddharth Nagar is one of the 250 most backward districts of India and receives funds from the Backward Regions Grant Fund Programme. It is connected to several major roads.
