About Pathankot Assembly Constituency

Pathankot is constituency No. 3 of Punjab legislative assembly. It is situated in Gurdaspur district and comes under Gurdaspur Lok Sabha constituency. It is an open constituency. According to data with the Election Commission of India, Pathankot assembly constituency has 1,30,391 registered voters. It comprises 68,013 male and 62,378 female registered voters. The BJP defeated the Congress by 17,856 votes to win this constituency in the last Punjab assembly elections held in 2012. Ashwani Kumar Sharma, the winning BJP candidate, got 42,218 votes. The runner-up was Raman Bhalla of Congress who got 24,362 votes. The voter turnout was 72.68 %.
