About Yanam Assembly Constituency
Yanam is constituency No. 30 of Puducherry legislative assembly. It is situated in Yanam district and is part of the Puducherry Lok Sabha constituency. It is an unreserved constituency. According to the Election Commission of India, Yanam has 30,936 registered voters comprising 14,789 male and 16,147 female registered voters. In the 2011 Assembly elections, the Congress won this seat by a formidable margin of 19,118 votes. Malladi Krishna Rao was the winning Congress candidate. Rao bagged 23,985 votes while Manchala Satya Sai Kumar of AIADMK, his nearest contender, got only 4,867. The voter turnout was 95.80 %.
