About Shahada Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency
Shahada is one of the tehsils in Nandurbar district of Maharashtra. Earlier, it was a part
of Dhule
district. Shahada is known for the educational facilities it provides. As of 2001 India
census, Shahada
had a population of 49,697. The assembly constituency of Shahada falls under Nandurbar Lok
Sabha
constituency. The constituency is reserved for the Scheduled Tribes. Valvi Padmakar
Vijaysing of INC won
the 2009 assembly elections and is the present MLA from the constituency. He defeated Padvi
Udesing
Kocharu of SHS with a huge margin. Vijaysing secured 51222 votes as against Kocharu's 38635
votes.
