About Khadakwasala Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency

A part of Baramati parliamentary constituency, the assembly constituency of Khadakwasala is located in the Pune district. Khadakwasala is also the name of the dam which is the main source of water in Pune. The seat is represented by MNS (Maharashtra Navnirman Sena). Wanjale Ramesh Hiraman of MNS won the 2009 assembly elections and is the present MLA. He defeated Vikas Pandharinath Dangat of NCP (Nationalist Congress Party) with a huge margin. Hiraman bagged 79006 votes as against Dangat's 56488 votes.
