About Andheri West Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency

Located in Mumbai Suburban district, the assembly constituency of Andheri West belongs to Mumbai North West Lok Sabha constituency. Janhit Nagrik Manch (JNM) in 2009 assembly elections took the initiative to nominate the citizen candidate from the constituency. They nominated Hansel D'souza, an activist. Ashok Bhau Jadhav of INC (Indian Natinal Congress) won the 2009 assembly elections from Andheri West constituency and is the present MLA. He defeated Vishnu V. Korgaonkar of SHS (Shiv Sena) with a very huge margin. Jadhav secured 59899 votes as against Korgaonkar's 27741 votes. Andheri West is a residential area.
