India General(Lok Sabha) Election Result Analysis Party Wise and Year Wise


Ever since the INC came into existence it had been dominating the Indian Politics by fetching the maximum number of seats and had been the ruling party for years until Janta Dal came in power in 1977. Later in 1984 BJP started its political journey by winning 2 seats and finally came in power in 1996 when Atal Bihari Vajpayee took the charge of the PMO. Congress went from fetching 404 seats in 1984 to just 44 seats in the 16th Lok Sabha Elections that took place 2014. While BJP, who fetched just 2 seats in 1984 Lok Sabha Elections went on to achieve an absolute majority with 282 seats out of 543 in the 16th Lok Sabha Elections, 166 more than previous 15th Lok Sabha Elections.
