About Tral Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency

Tral is a small town in Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir. The place was earlier known as 'Three Pearls'. The town is being developed in the education and employment sectors. As of 2001 India census, it had a population of 11,607.The assembly constituency of Tral belongs to Anantnag parliamentary constituency. Mushtaq Ahmad Shah of PDP won the 2008 assembly elections. He defeated Mohd Ashraf Bhat of JKNC. Shah secured 10393 votes as against Bhat's 6586 votes.
