About Rajpora Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency

Rajpora is one of the biggest villages in Samba district of Jammu and Kashmir. The assembly constituency of Rajpora belongs to Anantnag parliamentary constituency. The seat has been occupied by PDP since 2002. Syed Bashir Ahmad Shah of PDP won the 2008 assembly elections for the second consecutive time. He defeated Gulam Mohi-Ud-Din Mir, an independent candidate. Shah bagged 10177 votes as against Mir's 9230 votes.
