About Homeshalibugh Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency
Homeshalibugh is a town in Islamabad district of Jammu and Kashmir. The assembly constituency of Homeshalibugh is a part of Anantnag parliamentary constituency. The 2008 assembly elections witnessed a tough competition between Abdul Gafar Sofi of PDP and Muhammad Amin Dar of CPI(M). Sofi defeated Dar in the 2002 assembly elections. Sofi won the 2008 assembly elections for the second consecutive time and is the present MLA. He defeated Dar with a huge margin. Sofi secured 12249 votes as against Dar's mere 3782 votes.
