About Doda Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency

Doda is a small town in the district by the same name of Jammu and Kashmir. It acquired the status of a district in 1948. As of 2011 India census, it had a population of 25,527. The assembly constituency of Doda falls under Udhampur parliamentary constituency. Abdul Majid Wani of INC won the 2008 assembly elections for the second consecutive time and is the present MLA. He defeated Khalid Najib Suharwardy of JKNC. Wani bagged 23254 votes as against Suharwardy's 16102 votes.
