About Kalanaur Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency

Kalanaur is a city in the Rohtak district of Haryana. The assembly constituency of Kalanaur falls under Rohtak parliamentary constituency. This assembly constituency is reserved for the Scheduled Castes. As of 2001 India census, Kalanaur had a population of 16,847. Shakuntla of INC won the 2009 state assembly elections and is the present MLA. She defeated Naga Ram of INLD with a huge margin. Shakuntla bagged 52142 votes as against Ram's 24282 votes.
