About Gurgaon Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency

Gurgaon, a city in the district by the same name in Haryana is a leading financial and industrial center. The city was earlier known as Guru Gram which means Village of the Guru. It is a city with the third highest per capita income in India. Gurgaon also has its share of problems such as lack of proper infrastructure and utilities, scarcity of power and rising crime rate. The total electorate in Gurgaon is 288106. The assembly constituency of Gurgaon belongs to Gurgaon parliamentary constituency. Sukhbeer, an independent candidate won the 2009 assembly elections and is the present MLA. He defeated Dharambir of INC.
