Dr. Mahesh Sharma is the current Tourism Minister of India

The Ministry of Tourism administers the rules, regulation and laws related to the development, promotion and growth of tourism in India. It is also responsible for the formulation of national policies and programmes and coordinating the activities of various Central/State/UTs Government Agencies for the development of tourism in the country. India has won two global awards in World Tourism Mart 2011 in London – World's Leading Destination and World's Leading Tourist Board. The Ministry of Tourism is headed by Mahesh Sharma (Minister of State for Tourism (Independent Charge) ).
