Shri Piyush Goyal is the current Coal Minister of India

The Ministry of Coal takes care of the production, demand, supply, price and distribution of the coal through Coal India Limited, a government owned Corporation. It is responsible for the Union Government's 49 percent participation in the Singareni collieries Company, which is a public sector undertaking in a joint venture with the Andhra Pradesh government. The ministry also take charge of the administration of the Coal Mines Welfare Organisation and Coal Mines Provident Fund Organisation. It is headed by Ministery of coal and presently Piyush Goyal is the Minister of the Coal Ministry.
