About Sonepur Legislative Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency

A legislative assembly of the state of Bihar, Sonepur is in Saran district and a part of Lok Sabha (parliamentary) Constituency Saran. Sonepur constituency is home to 2,67,918 eligible voters, out of them 1,44,556 are male and 1,23,358 are female. About 58 % of these voters had participated in the polling process at the time of the Bihar Assembly election 2015. RJD’s Dr. Ramanuj Prasad was elected the MLA of Sonepur in the 2015 assembly elections. Vinay Kumar Singh bagged the seat with 86,082 votes by defeating BJP’s Vinay Kumar Singh by a margin of 36,396 votes. BJP’s Vinay Kumar Singh was the winner of the 2010 election held in Sonepur. He had defeated Bihar’s former CM, Rabri Devi. However, Singh lost in the election of 2015.

Bihar Assembly election 2020 is scheduled from October 28 to November 10, 2020.
