About Pipra (Supaul) Legislative Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency

Pipra, not to be confused with Pipra in the Purvi Champaran district, is located in the Supaul district of Bihar and is one of the 243 legislative assembly constituencies of the state. Hardi West, Hardi East, Veena, Amha, Laudh and Karhio gram panchayats of Supaul community development block; Kishanpur community development block; and Pipra community development block are covered under the Pipra (Supaul) assembly constituency according to the recommendations of the Delimitation Commission of India – 2008. The constituency came into existence after the implementation of the orders of the Delimitation Commission of India in 2008.

The Pipra assembly constituency, in Supaul, has 2,81,438 eligible voters; 1,51,708 men and 1,29,716 women exercise their right to vote and elect their representative in the constituency. Sujata Devi of JD (U) is the sitting MLA of the constituency, who got 44,883 votes in her favour in the state assembly elections of 2010. She beat LJP's Dinbandhu Yadav by a margin of 14,686 votes. The Pipra legislative segment is a part of the Supaul Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituency of Bihar.
