About Maharajganj Legislative Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency
Maharajganj is a Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituency as well as a legislative assembly constituency in the state of Bihar. Maharajganj lies in the Siwan district of the state. Maharajganj is currently represented in the state legislative assembly by Hem Narayan Sah of JDU, who won the seat in the 2015 assembly elections after getting 68,459 votes. He defeated BJP�s Kumar Deo Ranjan Singh by a margin of 20,292 votes. JDU has been winning Maharajganj seat since the Bihar Assembly election 2005 (February).
A total of 2,76,952 people are enlisted by the Election Commission of India to vote in the Maharajganj assembly segment. There are 1,44,765 men and 1,32,181 women in the constituency who can vote. The polling percentage for the previous Bihar assembly election was 54.34 %.
Bihar Election 2020 is scheduled from 28 October to 10 November 2020.
