About Kanti Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency
Kanti is a part of the Vaishali Lok Sabha Constituency and is one of the 243 legislative assembly segments of Bihar. It is in the Muzaffarpur district. Kanti has 2,75,200 eligible voters. Out of these 1,48,871 are men and 1,26,323 women.
Independent candidate Ashok Kumar Choudhary (Sadatpur) is the sitting MLA of Kanti. He got 58,111 votes in the 2015 assembly elections. HAMS�s Ajit Kumar was the runner-up with 48,836 votes. Ajit Kumar had won Kanti Vidhan sabha constituency three times from 2005 to 2010. However, he could not keep his fourth term in 2015.
The Kanti assembly segment covers the Marwan and Kanti community development blocks, as per the implementation of the recommendations of the Delimitation Commission of India 2008.
