About Biharsharif Legislative Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency

Biharsharif is a legislative assembly constituency in the Nalanda district of Bihar. It is a part of the Nalanda Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituency of the state. Dr. Sunil Kumar of BJP represents Biharsharif in the state legislative assembly of Bihar. He won the seat after getting 76,201 votes in the 2015 assembly elections. JDU’s Mohammad Asghar Shamim was runner up with 73,861 votes.


Dr. Sunil Kumar has won 2005 (February and October), and 2010 elections from Biharsharif constituency on JDU’s ticket. He switched to BJP in 2015 and won that election as well. Biharsharif has a massive electorate of 3,48,565 voters. However, only 51.18 % of them voted during Bihar Election 2015. The next election to the Bihar Legislative Assembly will be held in October-November 2020.
