About Belaganj Legislative Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency

Belaganj is a legislative assembly constituency in the Gaya district of Bihar. This assembly segment of Bihar is a fragment of the Gaya (SC) Lok Sabha constituency of the state. Belaganj is represented in the state legislative assembly of Bihar by RJD's Surendra Prasad Yadav, who won the seat with 71,067 votes in the 2015 assembly elections. Whereas Sharim Ali of HAMS came up as a runner up with 40,726 votes.

The Election Commission of India identified a total of 2,49,598 people of the Belaganj constituency as eligible voters under the universal adult franchise. There are 1,32,456 male and 1,17,136 female voters in the constituency. The next election in Belaganj will be held as per the schedule of the Bihar Assembly election 2020. The Belaganj legislative assembly segment covers Kendua, Kesaru Dharampur, Naili, Amraha, Kaler, Chakand, Aurwan, Madan Bigha, Katari, Rasalpur, Ghutiya, Bara, Kujapi, Korma, Kandi, Churi and Kujap gram panchayats of Gaya Town community development block; and Belaganj community development block as recommended by the Delimitation Commission of India in 2008.
