About Moga Assembly Constituency

Moga is constituency No. 73 of Punjab legislative assembly.
It is situated in Moga district and comes under Faridkot Lok Sabha constituency. It is an open constituency. The corresponding Lok Sabha constituency Faridkot is reserved for scheduled castes.

According to data with the Election Commission of India, Moga assembly constituency has 1,74,531 registered voters. It comprises 92,109 male and 82,422 female registered voters.

In the 2012 Assembly elections, the Congress won this constituency by 4,625 votes. Joginder Pal Jain, the winning Congress candidate, got 62,200 votes. The runner-up was Paramdeep Singh Gill of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) who got 57,575 votes. The voter turnout was 76.82 %. In the 2013 by-elections, SAD candidate Joginder Pal Jain won this seat.
