About Gidderbaha Assembly Constituency

Gidderbaha is constituency No. 84 of Punjab legislative assembly. It is situated in Muktsar district and comes under Faridkot Lok Sabha constituency. While Gidderbaha is an unreserved assembly constituency, the corresponding Faridkot Lok Sabha seat is reserved for scheduled castes.

According to data with the Election Commission of India, Gidderbaha assembly constituency has 1,40,471 registered voters. It comprises 74,322 male and 66,149 female registered voters.

The Congress defeated its nearest rival by a convincing margin of 13,652 votes to win this constituency in the last assembly elections held in 2012. The winning candidate from Congress, Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, got 50,305 votes. The runner-up was Sant Singh Brar of Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) who got 36,653 votes. The voter turnout was 88.74 %.
