AAP Candidate List 2017 for Punjab Polls

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has declared its list of candidates on all 117 seats for the upcoming Punjab Assembly elections 2017. Its alliance partner Lok Insaf Party, led by Bains Brothers, is contesting on five of the 117 seats. According to reports, party member Bhagwant Mann, who represents Sangrur constituency of Punjab in the Lok Sabha, is going to lead the Aam Aadmi Party's campaign committee in the state. Bhagwant Mann will contest from Jalalabad constituency.

A prominent face in AAP's list of candidates is H.S. Phoolka. He is a notable Supreme Court lawyer who propelled a campaign to get justice for the victims of 1984 anti-Sikh riots. Phoolka is contesting from Dakha constituency in Ludhiana. Himmat Singh Shergill will contest from SAS Nagar (Mohali). Both Phoolkha and Shergill had contested the Lok Sabha elections on AAP ticket but unsuccessfully. The party has fielded 71-year-old Sarabjit Kaur from Dera Bassi. Sarabjit Kaur is the wife of former finance minister in the Akali government Captain Kanwaljit Singh. A Congress rebel and daughter of a prominent Akali leader are among the candidates named in the Aam Aadmi Party's list.
