The Chief Electoral Officer of Maharashtra is Jageshwar Swarup Saharia.

Jageshwar Swarup Saharia joined the Civil Services of India as an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) Officer in 1978 from Maharashtra. Prior to being the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) of Maharashtra, he had served as the Chief Secretary of the State as well. Jageshwar S. Saharia had replaced Nitin Ramchandra Gadre, a 1989-batch IAS officer of Maharashtra cadre, as the CEO of Maharashtra. He had previously held the post of Commissioner of the School Education and Sports Department of the State too.
