One of the 87 assembly constituencies, Zanskar is a tehsil in the Kargil district of Jammu and Kashmir. The assembly constituency of Zanskar belongs to Ladakh parliamentary constituency. The seat is the JKNC bastion. Feroz Ahmed Khan of JKNC won the 2008 assembly elections and is the present MLA. He defeated Ghulam Raza of INC with a huge margin. Khan bagged 6552 votes as agianst Raza's 5634 votes.
