About Gandhinagar Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency

One of the 87 assembly constituencies of Jammu and Kashmir, Gandhinagar is a part of Jammu parliamentary constituency. The seat has been occupied by INC since 2002. Raman Bhalla of INC won the 2008 assembly elections for the second consecutive time and is the present MLA. He defeated Nirmal Singh of BJP. Bhalla secured 33486 votes as against Singh's 31223 votes.
