Chhamb is a city in Jammu district of Jammu and Kashmir. The assembly constituency of Chhamb belongs to Jammu parliamentary constituency. The constituency is reserved for the Scheduled Castes. The seat is the INC bastion. Tara Chand of INC won the 2008 assembly elections for the third consecutive time and is the present MLA. He defeated Chaman Lal of BJP. Chand bagged 25335 votes as against Lal's 22940 votes.
