Tikari is one of the 243 legislative assembly segments of Bihar and lies in the Gaya district of the state. It belongs to the Aurangabad Lok Sabha
(parliamentary) constituency. Dr. Anil Kumar of JD (U) currently represents Tikari in the Bihar state legislative assembly as he got 67,706 votes in the assembly elections held in November 2010. RJD's Bagi Kumar Verma was the runner-up with 49,165 votes. The Tikari assembly constituency accommodates a total of 2,60,893 eligible voters, out of whom 1,38,190 are males and 1,22,701 are females. According to the recommendations of the Delimitation Commission of India - 2008, the Tikari legislative assembly segment comprises Tekari and Konch community development blocks.
