About Suryagarha Legislative Assembly (Vidhan Sabha) Constituency

Suryagarha is a legislative assembly constituency in the Lakhisarai district of the Bihar. It is a part of the Munger Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituency of the state. The Suryagarha assembly segment has a big electorate of around 3,16,352 eligible voters. Amongst all the voters of the constituency, there are 1,71,079 men and 1,45,271 women.

RJD�s Prahlad Yadav had won the Bihar Election 2015 from the Suryagarha seat. He secured 82,490 votes and defeated Prem Ranjan Patel of BJP who managed to get 52,460 votes and came up as a runner up. They had a margin of 18.58 % votes between them. Prahlad Yadav has a history of winning this seat in 1995, 2000, and 2005 (February) Bihar Assembly elections. Whereas BJP�s Prem Ranjan Patel got hold of this seat in 2005 (October) and 2010 election. However, he lost to Prem Ranjan Patel in the year 2015.
