The second wave of coronavirus has been more catastrophic than the first. More than half of the admissions during the second wave required supplemental oxygen during treatment. The Scarcity of medical infrastructure in the nation collapsed the health system. To aid the nation, crucial foreign assistance arrived.

In these critical times, America provides over $500 million in assistance to India. The Biden administration will share 80 million spare vaccines with the rest of the world. The proportion of distribution of these vaccines is not yet indicated but it is assumed that India will be among the recipients.

White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki informed, “To date, the United States has provided over $500 million in COVID relief to India, including contributions from the U.S. federal and state governments, American companies and organizations and private citizens.”

Rev Jesse Jackson a Civil Rights activist and Congressman Raja Krishnamoorthi on Wednesday requested President Joe Biden to allow a minimum of 60 million vaccine doses to India out of the 80 million.

Rev Jackson said that India is not only our neighbor in democracy but is an important ally, the coronavirus is airborne. We can help ourselves and the world when we help to lessen the spread of the virus.

The world has been severely hit by the Coronavirus pandemic. Jen Psaki said the United States is working to extend the assistance to south Asian countries. “We’ve sent seven air shipments, including health supplies, oxygen, oxygen supplies, and 95 masks, rapid diagnostic tests, and medicine,” she said.

The coronavirus pandemic knows no boundary and if one nation is impacted by it, it will spread to other nations as well. The virus doesn’t differentiate by race, gender, ideology, or other such criteria. It affects each age group equally.

India received $ 500 million in foreign assistance from the United States of America. The distribution of these supplies is administered by the central government. The mapping of locations where the supplies are urgently needed is being controlled and headed by the empowered groups.

As this outbreak spreads, it is imperative for the government of India to step up even more to prevent the continued loss of life.
