New Delhi: Sputnik V vaccine will soon be supplied to Delhi, Kejriwal says. The makers have agreed to supply the Russian vaccine to the capital, however, the quantity is yet to be decided.
Chief Minister of New Delhi, Arvind Kejriwal said “We had a word with the manufacturers of Sputnik V vaccine. They have agreed to offer us the anti-covid vaccine doses but the quantity is still to be decided. Our officials got in touch with the Sputnik V makers and the procurement of vaccines is in process”.
Kejriwal made this announcement at Delhi’s first drive-through vaccination center, located in Dwarka. He further added “Government should also contact Moderna and Pfizer, as the vaccines made by these manufacturers are suitable for children. Other countries have already bought the jabs and begun the vaccination process. Our government should also approve vaccines offered by Moderna and Pfizer and use it to vaccinate kids”.
Arvind Kejriwal also spoke about the upcoming launch of a government drive-through vaccine center. The new government-based vaccination center will be launched at Chhatrasal on Friday.
An official from the Ministry of Health and Affairs informed that approximately 22 crores of Covid-19 vaccines have already been supplied to states and Union Territories. Although, the majority of vaccine doses are yet to be administered.
