During a live TV debate, Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate abused Sambit Patra, calling him “Naali ka Keeda”. Former Journalist, Supriya Shrinate is trending on Twitter for taking a jibe at Sambit Patra. She was also invited by the news channel to critically evaluate the BJP government’s seven years achievement.
In a heated argument over diplomacy with China, Sambit Patra recalled the meeting of Congress with the Chinese ambassador during the Doklam standoff. Shrinate objecting his further comments on Rahul Gandhi called Patra, “Naali ka Keeda”.
BJP government has completed two years in office after the 2019 Lok sabha election. Overall the Narendra Modi Government has completed 7 years in a row. To amplify his party’s achievement Sambit Patra participated in a live news debate on AajTak. She said, “Tum do kaudi ke naali ke keede ho, are naali ke keede chup ho ja, naali ke keede kya bol rahe ho tum. Are Naali ka keeda. Chup jhoota kahin ka (You are a two-bit gutter worm, keep quiet gutter worm. Shut up you liar).”
Patra further tweeted slamming the Congress spokesperson saying, “How educated . How Cultured…Wah!!”.He also used the hashtag ‘GaliWaliMadam’.
The clips from the video went viral on the social media platform. Supriya however didn’t directly respond to the ‘galiwalimadam jibe but she tweeted, “So I rattled the joker it seems! Bring it on ;)”.
Shrinate contested in the General Assembly elections from Maharajganj in Uttar Pradesh representing Indian National Congress (INC). She replaced Amarmani Tripathi’s daughter Tanushree Tripathi. However, she lost the election and was appointed spokesperson of the party in September. Shrinate is the daughter of late UP politician Harsh Vardhan. The political tussle between parties in India is not a new thing but the use of abusive words in national television by politicians must be stopped. The mode of conduct should be kept in mind in live news especially.
While many are criticizing Shrinate over her remarks in the national news telecast, Some however are of the opinion that Sambit Patra is getting what he does to others in these live debates.
Recently an FIR in Chhattisgarh was filed against Sambit Patra over the toolkit issue.
