AIMIM leader Syed Nazim Ali vowed and said “Nazam will happen but I won’t allow Hindu wedding processions to take place in Noorpur without permission”.

On 26th May, two Hindu wedding processions were en route, when the mob was allegedly beaten up by the Islamists. The Islamists threatened the Hindus (Dalits) and asked them to return to their home and did not allow them to proceed with the wedding procession.

Syed Nazim Ali, AIMIM (All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen) leader, interacted with the media and made a statement on the recently occurred attack against the Dalits. He said, “I will not allow Hindu wedding processions to take place without my permission. Do whatever you want to do”.

Noorpur is a small city located in the Bijnaur district of Uttar Pradesh. It is a Muslim majority-based area where approx. 800 Muslim families reside in the city. On the other hand, the rest 125 Hindu Families who live in the village belong to the Jatav Community (Scheduled Caste).

In the last week too, some Islamists unleashed violence on the Hindu-Dalits families living in Noorpur. After bearing the havoc, most of the Hindu families have fled away and placed a “This house is on sale” banner outside their homes. A majority of Hindu families in Noorpur have scribbled the same message for prospective buyers, as they have decided to sell their house and leave the city due to the rising attacks of violence against them.

AIMIM was founded back in 1927, currently led by Asaduddin Owaisi as a national president and Syed Ahmad Pasha as general secretary. AIMIM claims to promote the social, economic, and educational development of minorities including Muslims, Dalits, and other underprivileged communities of the country.
