Hyderabad: Mr. N Uttam Kumar Reddy, Telangana Congress President, and the Nalgonda MP waived off three ambulance services for Covid-19 patients in Greater Hyderabad. Congress started a new ambulance service in Hyderabad to help Coronavirus patients to reach hospitals without bearing any cost.

The three ambulances will be stationed at Gandhi Bhavan, Nampally. The ambulances are donated by Congress MLA, Jayaprakash Reddy to help COVID-19 patients. Congress leader, Reddy said, “Any Coronavirus patient or their family members residing in a 50 KM radius of the state can avail free of cost ambulance services to reach the Hospitals in Greater Hyderabad”.

The Telangana Rashtra Samithi also proposed that the number of Covid-19 tests should be increased and be covered in the ArogyaSri scheme offering free of cost treatment to Coronavirus patients. The middle class and the poor are facing an extreme crisis at the moment as they are unable to afford their treatment. The private hospitals are charging an unreasonably high amount of fees to treat the patients, thereby causing a lot of stress and chaos amongst the needy.

Mr. Reddy made it quite clear by his statement that the poor, especially the BPL families should be offered free of cost Covid-19 testing, treatment, and ambulance services in private hospitals as well.

Other neighboring states including Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu are offering free Coronavirus treatment. To further add, Mr. Uttam Reddy also said “What is stopping the Telangana government from announcing free COVID-19 treatment”.

Congress Leader, Uttam Kumar Reddy insisted that the government should conduct RT-PCR tests on the maximum population residing in the state. As of now, only 20 percent of the population has been tested, the ones who willingly went to private hospitals and health centers.
