Thiruvananthapuram: Pinarayi Vijayan takes oath as Kerela CM for the second time. The swearing-in ceremony took place in the Central Stadium at Thiruvananthapuram, attended by 20 ministers of the New Kerela cabinet including NCP’s AK Saseedran, R Bindu, PA Mohammad Riyas, and Indian National League’s Ahammad Devarkovil.

76-year-old Pinarayi Vijayan, Kerala new CM 2021 is a dedicated CPM veteran who cemented his post as a CM for a consecutive second term. Governor of Kerela, Arif Mohammad Khan administered the oathing ceremony as per the Kerela High Court’s order of allowing only 500 attendants with following all COVID protocols.

Pinarayi Vijayan commended his political journey as a youth-enthusiast belonging to the Communist Party of Indian Marxists. Vijayan took part in political activities while pursuing studies at the Government Brennen College.

In 2020, despite his popularity and dedicated efforts to serve the state, Pinarayi Vijayan’s “political image” came under scrutiny when the party decided to drop KK Shailaja. KK Shailja is the former cabinet minister of Kerela who has not appointed the seat on which Vijayan said “It is the party’s decision to not include any member for two consecutive terms ‘. Looking at the ironic situation, when the press confronted Vijayan on his thoughts about being elected for the 2nd time and KK Shailja’s omission previously, he said “I am continuing because the party asked me to”.

This is not the only reason why Vijyana is subjected to criticism. As per sources, Vijayan’s son-in-law Mohammad Riyas is also getting a seat in the new cabinet. The newly appointed cabinet of Kerela is a blend of veterans and youths, including Veena George, Dr. R Bindu, VN Vasavan, MV Govindan, K Radhakrishnan, and others.
