The Delhi government developed, ‘Mukhyamantri Covid-19 Pariwar Aarthik Sahayata Yojana’ portal for the families to financially help them during the time of ‘crisis’. The Delhi government covid financial assistance to benefit families hit by the Coronavirus pandemic. 

The financial assistance scheme ‘Mukhyamantri Covid-19 Pariwar Aarthik Sahayata Yojana’ will provide financial assistance to families who have lost a family member to Covid 19. They will be provided with an ex-gratia of Rs 50,000.

It is most likely that the portal will be launched by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal next week, officials said.

Rajendra Pal Gautam, Social Welfare Minister said the scheme has been notified. It is most likely that the portal will be ready by Tuesday. Some security checks are being conducted and by next week the portal will be ready for the launch. 

The Arvind Kejriwal-led government has notified the scheme earlier under which ₹50,000 ex-gratia will be given to every family that lost a member to coronavirus and an additional ₹2,500 pension per month if the family lost the earning member to covid.

Rajendra Pal Gautam said in case if the online portal shows some discrepancies and people will not be able to apply through the portal for the financial assistance scheme then the government officials will pay a visit to their residences in order to provide the financial assistance scheme.

Due to the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic, many families lost their earning members. Kejriwal had earlier assured help to such families by providing a monthly pension of ₹2,500 besides the ex-gratia of ₹50,000,

Kejriwal also assured financial help to the children who lost both parents and single parents to COVID-19 that they will also be provided ₹2,500 per month till they attain 25 years of age. The Delhi government added that it will provide free education to such children. 

The new initiative of the Kejriwal-led government to financially help families and children amid the time of ‘crisis’ will surely yield fruitful results and increase the welfare of the society as a whole.
