The Aam Aadmi Party is outstanding amongst the other for Delhi Assembly Election 2020, for having a strong CM candidate – Arvind Kejriwal. Congress and BJP are campaigning without any CM face. If we consider the political wind in the capital, BJP is a major contender to AAP for Delhi Elections 2020. Scoring on the popularity of Arvind Kejriwal, Aam Aadmi Party has poked BJP several times citing ‘lack of leadership’ for not having any CM candidate. Is the BJP too confused between its leaders or it has some inside strategy to corner AAP?

BJP Thinks Choosing One Candidate Might Upset the Claimants

It is believed that Dr. Harsh Vardhan and Manoj Tiwari are the frontrunners for the CM’s face. The other leaders that pop up are Vijay Goel and Parvesh Varma. Several BJP leaders held a meeting at the BJP president Amit Shah’s residence to discuss the campaign strategy and candidates. Non-inclusion of CM candidacy has signaled that the BJP is no way planning to introduce a face for CM in Delhi Elections 2020.

The party believes that choosing one candidate might create groupism in the Delhi BJP unit. The factionalism would adversely affect the party’s performance in the polls. Instead, BJP will rely more on transparency, good governance, and the image of Narendra Modi. Delhi BJP is also in line with Kejriwal on promising poll sops. This includes five times free electricity, pensions, more free water, etc. With the launch of the manifesto expected soon, the party is bound to make many more promises to the people of Delhi.

CAA and NRC May Snatch AAP’s Votes

Arvind Kejriwal led Aam Aadmi Party has taken a silent position on the controversial CAA-NRC. The Muslim community is upset with Kejriwal for not taking any tough stand on the issue. On the other side, Congress will benefit in this regard because of its nationwide opposition to the act. There are 13% Muslim voters in Delhi, that can determine the result of 15 constituencies for Delhi Assembly Election 2020. These votes had shifted to AAP in the Delhi Assembly Election 2015, provided the anti-incumbency of Congress. Congress will surely benefit in this segment for the Delhi Elections 2020.

Also, BJP is planning to field leaders who have influence in their respective communities. This includes Manoj Tiwari for purvanchali votes, Ramesh Bidhuri- a Gujjar leader, BJP national secretary R.P Singh and Manjinder Singh Sirsa Sirsa of Shiromani Akali Dal who can woo Punjabi community. In spite of all this strategy, the original outcome of BJP will be noticeable in Four Weeks from now. The Delhi Assembly Election 2020 results will be announced on February 11, 2020.
