With all the latest developments going in Rajasthan, a high profile person of BJP is ‘missing’ from the show. The former powerful top woman politician Vasundhara Raje doesn’t seem to have any say in the activities of Rajasthan BJP.

The two times Chief Minister and five times MP Vasundhara Raje was once the powerhouse of BJP in Rajasthan. However, her weight in the state is constantly decreasing since the loss of the 2018 Rajasthan Election. Probably, her old mistakes are coming back to haunt her.

Vasundhara Raje is a force that the BJP no longer reckons in Rajasthan. The primary reason is her soured relationship with the central leadership of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Raje’s Power is Cut Down

After the defeat of Rajasthan Assembly Election 2018, Vasundhara Raje is maintaining distance from the party activities. The last time she shared a platform with Nitin Gadkari during the Jan Samvad Rally. However, she skipped the rally BJP president Nadda and sent her son instead.

The stature of Vasundhara Raje declined more after the election defeat when BJP appointed Gulab Chand Kataria as the leader of the opposition. Notably, Kataria is the same leader who Vasundhara Raje had forced to cancel a Yatra in Mewar in the year 2012. She had threatened to quit the party over the issue.

During the Lok Sabha Election 2019, Vasundhra Raje had no role in the distribution of tickets. The victory of 24 seats in the name of Narendra Modi only added to the decline of Vasundhara Raje in Rajasthan. The former CM of Rajsthan used to decide tickets from parliament to panchayat elections for BJP in Rajasthan.

No Raje loyalist got a berth in Modi Government after the last year’s win. Surprisingly, On Birla who is known to have differences with Raje became the Lok Sabha speaker. Moreover, members of the Anti-Raje camp got the position of ministers in the central government.

All these incidents have marked a clear shift of power in the Rajsthan BJP unit.

Fight With Modi-Shah

Vasundhara Raje and Amit Shah came at loggerheads with each other in the year 2018. Raje heavily opposed Amit Shah’s choice of Gajendra Shekhawat as BJP Chief. Also, the second tussle erupted during the ticket distribution for Rajasthan Election 2018.

Amit Shah had taken a step back for the issues of 2018, however, Amit Shah is the wrong person to mess within BJP given the current atmosphere.

Vasundhara Raje’s tension with Narendra Modi dates back to 2007. The two had fought over the credit for the construction of ‘canal’. Both the BJP leaders were at the peak of their power in that period.

When Narendra Modi became the prime minister, he inducted the anti-Raje leaders of Rajasthan in the cabinet. Hence, the fall of Vasundhra Raje began since 2014.
