After long contemplation, Bharatiya Janata Party has declared its Delhi List of Candidates. This list contains the candidates for 57 seats of the Delhi Assembly Election 2020. There are 11 SC candidates and four women in the BJP Delhi Candidate List. The party has not yet decided any candidate for New Delhi Constituency. Arvind Kejriwal from Aam Aadmi Party is contesting from this constituency. BJP Delhi president Manoj Tiwari and party’s Delhi election in-charge Prakash Javadekar unveiled the BJP Candidate List at a press conference on Friday.
The Delhi Assembly Election 2020 is scheduled for February 8, 2020.
Bharatiya Janata Party has fielded three Congress turncoats. Sanjay Singh from Vikaspuri constituency, Surendra Singh- Timarpur, and Dr. SC Vats from Sakur Basti seat. Anil Vajpayee is an AAP turncoat who is included in the BJP Delhi Candidate List. He will contest from Gandhinagar constituency. Kapil Mishra is a former AAP MLA who was sacked as a minister in the Kejriwal government. BJP has fielded him from Model town in the Delhi List of Candidates. Elections.in will update regarding any developments on the remaining 13 constituencies.
As the speculations had floated, BJP has not fielded any Lok Sabha MP for the Delhi Assembly Election 2020. However, the key candidates include Surendra Singh Bittu from Timarpur; Shikha Rai from Greater Kailash; Neelakam Khatri from Narela; Suman Kumar Gupta from Chandni Chowk; Vikram Bidhuri from Tughlakabad; and Ashish Sood from Janakpuri. Three and only sitting BJP MLAs also have their names in the BJP Delhi Candidate List. Namely Jagdish Pradhan: Mustafabad, OP Sharma: Vishwas Nagar, Vijender Gupta: Rohini, contesting from their incumbent constituencies only.
Aam Aadmi Party had earlier announced its Delhi List of Candidates. Congress, too, is expected to release the list soon. Delhi Assembly Election 2020 will be held on 8 February.
