The Bihar Election 2020 is commencing since the polling for the first phase is scheduled for 28 October 2020. In the first phase, 71 constituencies are witnessing the battle. Many opinion polls have predicted a smooth victory for NDA. About 1,066 candidates have decided to try their luck in the first phase battle of Bihar Election 2020. Below is the list of key candidates for phase 1.

Key Candidates of NDA alliance

Shreyasi Singh – BJP has fielded ace shooter Shreyasi Singh from the Jamui constituency. She is the daughter of former central minister Digvijay Singh. Shreyasi is contesting against RJD candidate Vijay Prakash. Singh had joined BJP in the month of October this year.

Ramnarayan Mandal – He is a minister of revenue and land reforms in the present Nitish Kumar government. Mandal is contesting the Banka constituency on BJP’s ticket in the Bihar Election 2020. Ramnarayan Mandal had won the Banka constituency for 5th time in the year 2015.

Brij Kishor Bind – A cabinet minister of backward classes welfare in the present NDA government of Bihar. Bind is contesting Chainpur constituency for the phase of Bihar election 2020 on BJP’s ticket.

Prem Kumar – Prem Kumar is a BJP leader and a minister of Agriculture in the Bihar government. He is contesting from Gaya Town constituency.

Jitan Ram Manjhi – Former CM and President of HAM is contesting in the first phase of the Bihar Election from Imamganj constituency.

Jai Kumar Singh – Science and Technology Minister in Nitish Kumar’s cabinet, is contesting from Dinara constituency on a JDU ticket.

Krishna Nandan Verma – Education minister in the current government is fighting the election battle from Jehanabad constituency as a JDU candidate.

Mahagathbandhan Key Candidates

Sandeep Saurav – Previous JNU leader is contesting Phase 1 Bihar Election 2020 on Paliganj constituency as a CPI(ML) candidate. He will be fighting against sitting JDU MLA Jay Vardhan Yadav.

Anant Singh – A former JDU member and a criminal politician, is fighting the poll battle as an RJD candidate in the Mokama constituency.

Divya Prakash – She is the daughter of former central minister Jay Prakash Yadav. Divya Prakash is fielded as an RJD candidate from the Tarapur constituency. She is pitted against Mewa Lal Chaudhary of JDU.

Lallan Yadav – Contesting from Sultanganj constituency on Congress ticket, Lallan Yadav is a former Bihar Youth Congress President.

Dr. Shashi Shekhar Singh – Son of former minister and present MLA Awadhesh Kumar Singh. He is contesting the phase 1 Bihar election from Wazirganj seat as a Congress candidate.

Satish Kumar – Kumar is the Nawada district Congress president contesting from Warsaliganj constituency.

Nitu Kumari – The daughter in law of former MLA Aaditya Singh. Contesting on Congress ticket from Hisua constituency.
