Around 30 MLAs of Congress and some independent MLAs have pledged their support to Sachin Pilot. As the latest developments follow, Sachin Pilot is on the verge of leaving Congress. The scenery is remarkably similar to that of Madhya Pradesh government collapse of Congress.

The Congress high command has now instructed Randeep Surjewala and Ajay Maken to visit Rajasthan. Also, CM Ashok Gehlot has summoned all Congress MLAs for a meeting at his residence. While Sachin Pilot is adamant about not attending the meeting.

On the other hand, many Congress leaders are affirming that the government is stable. Yet, the cracks of the Rajasthan Congress government are clearly visible. The feud between Ashok Gehlot and Sachin Pilot is not new. The Congress central leadership still chose to ignore the issues instead of solving them.

Moreover, by not solving the bickering of the two leaders, Congress has allowed BJP to reap the benefits of the conflict.

Roots Cause of the Issue

The internal conflict of the Rajasthan Congress is mainly due to the post of Chief Minister. Since Sachin Pilot took charge of the Rajasthan Congress, he strived to bring the party in power. Any leader who takes so many efforts would naturally expect to be rewarded as a Chief Minister post.

Sachin Pilot was also a part of Rahul Gandhi’s Yuva Congress team. Since Rahul Gandhi decided to stay away from an organizational role in Congress, Pilot’s ambitions got cut short. The Young Vs Old conflict of Rajasthan Congress escalated when Congress high command chose Ashok Gehlot as the Chief Minister.

Since then, the two leaders are speaking against each other publicly. All the Congress had to do was to make the two leaders sit across table and solve their issues. This shows that the Congress high command has become extremely weak in the past few years.

Therefore, whatever is happening in Congress is the party’s own goal. Just like Sachin Pilot, Congress central leadership had sidelined Yuva Congress leader Jyotiraditya Scindia in Madhya Pradesh.

The FIR Fueled the Fire

The Rajasthan Police’s Special Operation Group has sent a notice to Sachin Pilot and some other MLAs. This particular incident might be the tipping point in the current Rajasthan political crisis.

Ashok Gehlot is also holding the home ministry in Rajasthan. Therefore, he is also in charge of the special operation group. Plainly, Ashok Gehlot himself is behind the notice sent to Sachin Pilot.

Sachin Pilot and his supporters have perceived this as an attack and excuse for harassment. As for now, Congress central leadership is upset with Gehlot regarding the summons. Many more developments are on the way as the story unfolds in the coming days.

Meanwhile, Sachin Pilot’s old fiend Jyotiraditya Scindia has shared support to the former. He said in a tweet that talent and capability find little space in Congress.
