Vadigenahalli M Muniyappa is the MLA from Sidlaghatta assembly constituency. He belongs to Indian National Congress party. In 2018 Vidhan Sabha elections he defeated B N Ravikumar of Janata Dal Secular by almost 97 thousand votes. He has served on various ministerial positions in the Government of Karnataka since 1991. He is considered to be among the senior leaders of Congress party in the state. He has served as the MLA for 9 times and once he was also elected as the Member of parliament in 1996.
